First day in Budapest

I made it to Budapest after about 13 hours of travel. My flights went smoothly, and luckily I didn't have to pay extra for overweight luggage (I made it at exactly 50 lbs). When I got to Budapest around noon, I was picked up by a Hungarian student Máté. He took me to my apartment, where I met my roommates who had arrived earlier that morning. Máté then took us to explore the area around our apartment a bit, and we got to see where we will be taking classes. My apartment is nicely sized and furnished! It came fully equipped with a tiny washing machine and many other necessities. My second roommate arrived a few hours after I did. After relaxing around our apartment and taking short naps, my two roommates and I went to dinner at a restaurant down the street called Paprika. The decorating there reminded me of Snow White a little, only there were lots of animal pelts hanging on the walls. We tried some Hungarian food and beer...delicious! Tomorrow we're going to meet up with some more students in our program and explore downtown Budapest (we're in a quieter area, which is okay with me!). I'm nervous and excited for classes to start. I miss my friends and family already! I'm sure I will settle in just fine here, though. I will post more exciting pictures tomorrow!
